The Office of Career Development will kick off a semester full of activities on Monday, September 24 with "Calling, Chocolate, and Career Development." This event will be held in Skye Lounge at 6:30 p.m. Students can come to enjoy a chocolate fountain and a discussion on calling and how Career Development can help them enter into the workplace.

"We love kicking off our programming with the foundation of calling," says Director of Career Development Rob Rostoni. "This is an event which helps students to think about God′s purpose for their lives during their time at Geneva College."

Career Development will also hold many other events this semester to assist students with resumes, internships and job searches. Each Friday from 10-11 a.m., a Resume Drop In will be held in the Student Center Conference Room for students to meet with staff to get help with creating a resume. Accounting Recruitment Day will be on Thursday, October 11 in Coraopolis, PA. Federal Careers Day will be held on Monday, October 15 at Carnegie Mellon University for students interested in pursuing jobs in the government.

In addition, there will be a special career-focused chapel on October 24 with pastor and author Tom Nelson as the keynote speaker. Nelson will speak on the topic of his book Work Matters. The book explores the ways that the fall has affected vocation and how God can be involved in every aspect of life, whether it is Sunday morning worship or Monday morning work.

The Career Development Office seeks to help students in their calling, career and professional development. It offers career counseling, employment opportunities, graduate school assistance and internship opportunities for all students and alumni.
