Beaver Falls, PA - If the season that freshman Heidi Mann has had on the soccer field is any indication of what the next four years will be like, women′s basketball coach Lori Wynn must be chomping at the bit to get her on the basketball court. The two-sport star has been nothing short of incredible in her freshman campaign for the Geneva women′s soccer team. Playing a huge role in the turnaround for Golden Tornadoes soccer, Mann has found the net 17 times this season and has become the all-time freshman leader in goals in school history. This past week, Mann scored four times and was named the Presidents′ Athletic Conference offensive player of the week.

Mann and the Geneva women needed to win both games last week to finish the season above .500 and become eligible for the NCCAA post-season. Mann posted a pair of goals in a 7-0 victory over Chatham and then scored two more in a 4-1 decision over Thiel in the regular season finale. She has been scoring goals at a record pace for Geneva this fall and still has some to work to do.

Geneva will be competing in the NCCAA east regional tournament sometime in the next two weeks for the right to advance to the NCCAA national tournament. It appears that Houghton College will be hosting the regional tournament on a date and time still to be determined.
