Glimpses_Miller.jpgDr.  Eric Miller, Geneva College professor of history and humanities, has recently published Glimpses of Another Land: Political Hopes, Spiritual Longings(Cascade Books, 2012). This collection of essays aims to provide insight into American life and a vision for the post 9/11 era.

“I'm hoping this book will move readers toward a sharpened understanding of our age, as well as a heightened sense of its mystery and possibilities,” explains Dr. Miller.

Glimpses of Another Land has been receiving recognition from national sources. An excerpt of the book was recently featured by one of the nation′s leading bloggers, Andrew Sullivan, on the Daily Beast, and two essays from the book appear on the influential Front Porch Republic website.

In reviewing Glimpses of Another Land, Senior Managing Editor of Christianity Today Mark Galli writes, "Eric Miller is one of the most thoughtful and graceful writers today—a combination of intelligence, humility and faithful insight. I try to read everything he writes. What a gift to have so many of his essays collected in one place."

Dr. Miller is the author of Hope in a Scattering Time: A Life of Christopher Lasch (Eerdmans, 2010), the first biography of historian and social critic Christopher Lasch, for which he received Christianity Today′s 2011 Book Awardfor History/Biography.
