Beaver Falls, PA - It was fun all around at Metheny Fieldhouse on Wednesday evening. The Geneva College women′s basketball team picked up its first conference victory of the season with a 56-50 victory over Bethany College. After dropping six straight overall and ten in a row in conference play, the Golden Tornadoes put 40 minutes together on Wednesday and took out their frustrations against a Bethany College team that has now dropped four straight of its own and moved to 5-13 overall and 3-8 in the PAC.

Geneva led throughout the first half and took a 29-24 lead into the break. Bethany scored nine of the first 12 points in the second half and took a brief one-point lead two minutes into the second half. Geneva responded by scoring the next nine points to open up a 41-33 lead and would never look back. In fact, Bethany would never again get closer than seven points down the stretch.

Heidi Mann and Leah Prisuta each scored 16 points in the victory while Bri Cowden came off the bench to score ten points. Geneva held Bethany to just nine field goals in the second half and to a mark of 32% from the field for the game. Meanwhile, Geneva shot 40% from the field including 3-6 from three-point range for the game.

The Golden Tornadoes will look to build upon their momentum on Saturday when they welcome Chatham University to Metheny Fieldhouse for a 2 pm tip-off.
