Beaver Falls, PA - The momentum gained by Geneva′s overtime victory over Thiel on Saturday afternoon didn′t carry over to Wednesday. The Golden Tornadoes were steamrolled by Bethany on Wednesday night by the score of 90-49. While Geneva was busy upsetting Thiel on Saturday, Bethany was shocked at Waynesburg on the same day. Needless to say, the Bison came into Metheny Fieldhouse in somewhat of an ornery mood. The loss dropped Geneva′s overall record to 2-16 including a 2-8 mark in the PAC. Meanwhile, Bethany improved to 13-6 overall and 7-3 in league play.

Not much went well for Geneva on this night as the Bison rolled out to a 45-28 halftime lead on the strength of 53% shooting from the field and eight treys in the first 20 minutes. Meanwhile, Geneva was busy shooting just 1-8 from long range in the first half. The second half didn′t offer any changes as the Golden Tornadoes finished the game 3-21 from three-point range while Bethany was 14-29 from outside the arc. Bethany shot 57% from the field for the game.

Matt Lorello provided one of the few bright spots on the night with a team best 18 points on 7-10 shooting from the field and five rebounds. Keynon Jackson led Geneva with nine rebounds to go along with nine points.

Geneva will enjoy a week off to lick its wounds before heading to Kentucky next Wednesday to face Thomas More. The Golden Tornadoes will then travel to Waynesburg next weekend before returning home to face Saint Vincent on February 6th.
