Beaver Falls, PA - The result didn′t come out how the Geneva College men′s basketball team would have hoped and it was not a night for the faint of heart. A total of 49 fouls were whistled and both teams combined for 60 free throw attempts in Geneva′s 74-66 loss to Saint Vincent. Geneva continued to slide as it dropped to 2-19 overall and 2-11 in the PAC while Saint Vincent kept pace at the top of the conference with a 17-5 overall record and a 12-1 mark in league play.

As has been the trend for most of the season, the Golden Tornadoes stood toe to toe with its opponent throughout the first half. Although it led only once in the first 20 minutes, Geneva found itself down by just four at the break by the count of 31-27. Five minutes into the second half, the Golden Tornadoes regained the lead 39-38 on three foul shots from Jordan Harbison. Two minutes later, Geneva led by three when Matt Lorello converted a lay-up to give the Golden Tornadoes a 46-43 lead. Saint Vincent battled back to tie the game at 50 with 9:30 left in the second half. Saint Vincent would score the next four points and would never relinquish the lead. Leading by as many as 12 points in the second half, Saint Vincent settled for its eight-point victory.

Keynon Jackson led Geneva with 14 points while Jordan Harbison and Matt Lorello each posted 12 in the loss. On defense, the Golden Tornadoes had no answers for Saint Vincent′s Chris Klimchock. Klimchock posted a season best 31 points on 10-15 from the field and 8-8 from the foul line. Isaac Turner and Sean Kett each came up with 14 points to help the Saint Vincent cause on Wednesday night.

Geneva will head to Grove City on Saturday for its final regular season road game. The Golden Tornadoes finish the regular season next week with home games against Penn State Beaver on Monday, W & J on Wednesday and Westminster next Saturday.
