Celebration Weekend is a new opportunity created this year at Geneva College to honor milestone alumni. As part of this special weekend, Geneva invites alumni from the classes of 1953 and 1963 to reunite during Friday and Saturday′s Commencement activities, which are being held May 10 and 11, 2013.
"We are thrilled to invite the 50- and 60-year reunion classes back to celebrate these milestones and lead the class of 2013 across the finish line as part of the graduation procession," said Alumni Relations Representative Jolynn Frey. "There are two days of activities, fellowship and reminiscence that unite them to Geneva forever."
Scheduled events begin on Friday with "Geneva Memories," where alumni can meet and review student newspapers and yearbooks in McCartney Library′s West Reading Room between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Celebration Weekend guests are also invited to join with current students and enjoy lunch in Alexander Dining Hall at noon. At 1 p.m., political science professor Dr. Tom Copeland will speak to alumni on "The Future Jerusalem."
Campus tours will be held in the morning at 11 a.m. and in the afternoon at 2 p.m.
Friday′s activities conclude with the Reunion Dinner, held at Seven Oaks Country Club from 5-7:30 p.m.
On Saturday, the members of the classes of 1953 and 1963 are encouraged to join the faculty and graduates in the Commencement processional at 9 a.m., followed by a reception on Northwood Lawn at noon.
