DSC1492.jpgBeaver Falls, PA - Since the 2000-2001 Geneva College school year, the Athletic Director has recognized excellence in the classroom by junior and senior student-athletes resulting in an accumulative GPA of 3.2. The Athletic Director′s Scholar-Athlete Award recognizes the hours of hard work and commitment that both the athletic realm and rigorous higher education Geneva provides takes to finish with an excellent mark. A total of 31 juniors and 19 seniors finished the 2012-13 academic year with at least an accumulative GPA of 3.2. The combined number of 50 student-athletes receiving the Athletic Director′s Scholar-Athlete Award is the most that has received the award since 2008. It is also the fourth highest total in the 13 years of the award.

The 19 seniors finishing their four years and receiving the award are Paige Banyas, Jacob Beschner, Garrett Biese, Lori Deem, Nick Edinger, Ryan Fronius, David Gerlach, Joe Hazen, Emily Hoobler, Ted Krzywiecki, Matt Lorello, Nate Mansor, Katherine Michalak, Jeb Nash, Tucker Nuetzel, Will Pinson, Leah Prisuta, Risa Tillman and Bryan Visingardi.

The following 31 juniors receiving the award are Deanna Briody, Karmyn Culbertson, Ashley Davis, Seth Dunn, Mark Filtz, Nathan Fisher, James Geramita, Jacob Grim, Jordan Harbison, Jesse Herman, Megan Hiers, Mike Jeffreys, Mackenzie Kemerer, Caleb Kilgore, Julie Kline, Brittany Kress, Alyssa Kuhn, Courtney Light, Elise Mann, Aaron Marga, Alayna Merkle, Charles Noyes, Charles Parker, Megan Porter, Dana Schnitzel, John Shipley, Lydia Steele, Amanda Weaver, Emilie Wilson, Trevor York, Kristen Zimmovan.
