Cleveland, OH –  The third time was the charm for Case Western and Geneva as the two teams had scheduled games postponed twice earlier in the season. The two schools finally hooked up on Tuesday as Geneva is getting set for the Presidents′ Athletic Conference tournament Thursday. The final regular season tune-up turned into a pair of losses for Geneva as it dropped decisions by scores of 7-0 and 2-1 to Case Western. The losses dropped Geneva′s overall record to 20-16.

Geneva watched Case Western dominate game one from the start with four runs in the bottom of the first. They added two more in the third and another in the fifth to put the game away. The Golden Tornadoes could only manage four hits in the game but went 0-8 with runners in scoring position. Dayna Hicks picked up two hits for Geneva in the loss. Andrea Hinds was handed the loss after six innings of work.

Game two was much more competitive but again Geneva could not get its offense on track. The Golden Tornadoes were held to only three hits in game two and just one run. The lone run coming when Ashley Davis scored on a wild pitch in the sixth inning to cut Case′s lead to 2-1 after it posted runs in the first and third innings. Geneva was again unable to capitalize with runners in scoring position going 0-5 in the night cap.

Samantha Johnson was the hard luck loser in game two despite allowing just two earned runs in six innings of work. Geneva will begin its PAC conference title defense on Thursday at 1 pm when it faces Washington & Jefferson in the first round of the PAC tournament.
