Latrobe, PA - There was a Golden Tornado warning on the campus of St. Vincent Friday as the Geneva Volleyball team set up shop for a day of competition in St. Vincent′s Bearcat Challenge Volleyball Tournament. The tournament opened the gates for Geneva to start their season strong with an overall record of 2-0. In the dual volleyball action, the Golden Tornadoes faced the Frostburg State Bobcats at three o′clock and then Carlow University at seven o′clock.

In the first game, Geneva showed their power and height for a victory in just three games (25-12, 25-19, 25-19). Senior, Ashley Davis hit for 18 kills against Frostburg while teammate Olivia Test covered the other side of the game with four blocks. Also included in the winning mix was Deanna Briody with 34 assists, McKala King gathered 14 digs and Sarah Ormsby earned five aces.
