The Pittsburgh Camerata will perform at First Presbyterian Church of Beaver Falls at 8 p.m. on Friday, September 20. The small chamber choir focuses on Renaissance, Baroque and 20th century music, singing primarily a cappella.
The program, "Such Morning Songs," will honor the group′s founding artistic director Arthur Wenk. The performance will include works by Guillame Dufay, Tomas Luis de Victoria, Paul Hindemith, Maurice Ravel and Jesu Meine Freude by J.S. Bach.
"Rarely do professional ensembles from Pittsburgh come to Beaver Falls to perform; ensembles with great talent and performance value," said Kathryn Donaldson, Pittsburgh Camerata singer and Geneva College chapel music director. "Geneva students have an opportunity to see professional singers perform live, something to which many people are never exposed."
All Geneva College students, faculty and staff are invited to attend the performance for free.
A shuttle service, beginning at 6:45 p.m., will be provided for Geneva College students. Those using the shuttle service should meet at Alexander Hall.
