Beaver Falls, PA - The Geneva College Golden Tornadoes make it a night to celebrate in Beaver Falls, PA. After a crushing start over Frostburg State, Geneva clinched their first conference win, second straight, with a 51-33 final over the Bethany Bison. The win puts Geneva′s overall record at 2-0, 1-0 in the Presidents′ Athletic Conference (PAC).

Geneva put the first points on the board with a three-yard run by Rocco Colavecchia in the last minute of the first quarter. After a good Mike Gardner kick, Geneva entered the second quarter up by a solid seven. Dylan Jones found space for a four-yard touchdown run in the eighth minute of the second quarter, doubling Geneva′s score. Not sixty seconds later, Bethany reminded Geneva they weren′t about to hand over the game that easily; Bison quarterback, Matt Grimard, found receiver, Chris Collins, for a huge 82 yard pass (two point conversion failed). Grimard continued, with one minute remaining, Grimard connected Jaylen Jennings for a 15 yard pass closing the gap at 14-12, Geneva ahead. Thirteen seconds before the half, Lemuel Fuller accomplished his first of many big plays in a 28 yard pass reception from Zack Hayward. The scoreboard showed 20-12, Geneva up by eight, as both teams entered the locker room.

Geneva scored their only points in the third quarter, two minutes into play. Colavecchia ran 11 yards for his second touchdown of the night. Gardner followed with his third good kick. Bethany responded with a five-yard touchdown pass to Jennings from Grimard and proceeded before the quarter ended. Grimard and Eric Blinn connected for another touchdown pass putting the Bisons only two points behind; 27-25.

Geneva finished strong in the fourth quarter to seal the deal. Colavecchia ran in two more touchdown runs (two yard at 12:18 and one yard at 8:32). Gardner′s kicks where good after each touchdown, and he made a 31 yard field goal five minutes later. Despite the advantage for the Golden Tornadoes, Bethany would not go away. Bethany′s Phil Acrie grabbed Grimard′s pass and made a ten-yard run for a touchdown. Geneva didn′t let Bethany have the last word. Jones ran 49 yards for the last touchdown of the night followed by a Gardner kick.

After all was said and done, Hayward took the number three slot in Geneva′s record book in single game passing with 417 yards. In pass receptions, Lemuel Fuller collected 14 total passes for Geneva′s second place slot in single game pass receptions. On defense, Goodell lead with 13 total tackles (five solo, eight assist), supported by Rashad Briscoe with ten solo tackles.
