Geneva Volleyball finished 2-3 after the week of competition defeating Thiel and Case Western

Pittsburgh, PA - The Golden Tornadoes were back in action for two more game at the Cargnie Mellon Volleyball Tournament. Geneva opened up Saturday defeating Case Western Reserve University in four games; 16-25, 25-14, 28-26, 25-19. At 3 p.m. Geneva took on John Carroll suffering a 3-0 loss; 24-26, 17-25, 14-25. The weekend split moves Geneva′s record to 10-5 remaining 6-0 in the PAC.

In game one over the Spartans, Geneva flipped the first match loss around to claim the next three. Ashley Davis, Rachel Netherland and Grace Hayes all hit for double digit kills. Davis led with 15 kills followed by 11 Netherland kills and 10 from Hayes. A strong service game was provided by Davis and Bri Dickson with four service aces each. Deanna Briody contributed 43 assists. On defense, Briody lead with 21 digs supported by Davis with 21.

In the loss against John Carroll, Geneva′s offense was led by Hayes 10 kills. Briody collected 32 assists, two ace serves and 10 digs despite the loss. McKala King fought for 14 digs.

Tuesday Geneva will travel to Westminster to face Chatham at 5:30 p.m. and Westminster at 7:30 p.m.
