Waynesburg, PA - Geneva found itself into its fourth overtime in the 2013 season against the Waynesburg Yellow Jackets. Geneva's Men's Soccer Team battled to a 2-2 tie at Waynesburg on Wednesday night. The draw pushed Geneva's record to 7-7-3 overall and a 3-3-1 mark in the PAC.

Geneva′s Steven Lawrence was the first to find the back of the net in the 17th minute of the game for the GT lead. Waynesburg′s Cody Lemke matched Lawrence′s′ goal off a pass from teammate Nick Broomer in the 35th minute. Both teams headed into halftime with a goal each.

The quick pace continued in the second half with each team creating dangerous offensive plays. Geneva forward, Daniel Cox took advantage of a rebound for a 2-1 score in the 59th minute of play. Ten minutes later, Yellow Jacket, Cody Lemke stung again with a throw in play to Colin Nelson for Waynesburg′s second goal.

Both the Golden Tornadoes and the Yellow Jackets would challenge the other goal keeper but would come to a stalemate 2-2 final. Geneva took 27 shots to Waynesburg′s 29, placing 13 shots on frame. GT goalkeeper, Bryan Butler collected 15 saves after a facing 17 Yellow Jacket shots on frame.

Geneva will host the Bethany Bison on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. when they will celebrate the 2013 senior class during Geneva′s Family Weekend. With a victory against Bethany on Saturday Geneva will clinch a berth into the PAC tournament.
