Crestview Hills, KY- The Geneva College men′s soccer team has grown weary of traveling to Thomas More to come away with a loss and was hoping 2013 would bring some change. Unfortunately the Saints maintained their perfect home record with a 1-0 victory and gave the Golden Tornadoes their first conference loss. Geneva fell to 5-5-2 overall and 1-1 in the PAC while Thomas More improved to 9-2 and a perfect 2-0 in conference play.

Geneva came prepared for Thomas More and held the majority of possession throughout the game. Jeremey Troutman was the first Golden Tornado to take a shot six minutes into the game but those shots would be few and far between as both teams would struggle in the offensive third. The game remained scoreless until the 71st minute when a mistake in the midfield gave Thomas More′s Kyle Troutman a chance to break down Geneva′s defense and slide a shot out of junior goalkeeper Bryan Butler′s reach and into the net. The Golden Tornadoes did not back down and combined for two more shots with one, less than three minutes left on the clock, coming from Alexander Rosenbaum that banked off of the post. "We played very well, executed our game plan and they capitalized on our mistake. Everything was good today, except the outcome," states Geneva′s Head Coach Gary Dunda.

Geneva will return home Saturday to host PAC rival Washington & Jefferson for a 2:30 p.m. start on Community Day.
