Tennis hit rough competition losing to Roberts Wesleyan 8-1 and Waynesburg 5-4 but was able to end the week on a high note defeating Marietta 7-2 before heading into their last match of the regular season.

Waynesburg, PA - The Golden Tornadoes traveled to Waynesburg, PA to face conference rival Waynesburg followed by a second match at Waynesburg against Marietta College. Geneva fell in a heartbreaker 5-4 to the Waynesburg Yellow Jackets lowering their PAC record to 5-3. Salvaging the day, Geneva defeated Marietta 7-2 for an overall record of 9-4.

In the close match against Waynesburg, Geneva′s Brittany Kress and Courtney Light where the only pair to find the ‘W′. Kress and Light now hold a nine match winning streak together. In singles, Elizabeth Stewart (7-4, 6-2), Kress (6-1, 6-7, 6-1), and Megan Hinds (7-5, 7-6) each defeated Yellow Jacket opponents despite the overall loss.

In the 7-2 win over Marietta, Julie Kline/Christine Bullock (8-6), Sam Jensen/Jen Bullock (8-6), and Stewart/Hinds (8-0) all found a victory in doubles play. In singles, Geneva rallied past the Pioneers for four single match wins from Stewart (8-2), Jensen (8-3), Hinds (8-1) and Light (8-1).

Wednesday Geneva will play their last regular season match against St. Vincent at 3:30 p.m., a rescheduled match due to weather on September 21st.
