Beaver Falls, PA- The Geneva College Men′s Basketball team hosted Bethany College in the night cap of a men′s and women′s double header on Saturday evening. Just a day into Christmas break on Geneva′s campus, the Golden Tornadoes proved to be out of sync throughout as they were routed by the undefeated Bison by a 91-62 final.

Bethany jumped out to an early double digit lead in the first five minutes of the contest as Geneva was uncharacteristically sloppy with the basketball. After five Geneva turnovers in the first few minutes of the game, the Bison were able to capitalize on the offensive end and build an early 14-4 lead that they would never relinquish. The Golden Tornadoes shot only 10-27 for 37% from the floor in the first half and never seemed to find their rhythm as Bethany used their size and athleticism to bully Geneva. The Bison held a 43-29 lead at the half.

The second half held much of the same as the Golden Tornadoes were never able to put together a sustained run to bring them back into the game. Inconsistent offensive possessions led to multiple second half turnovers and Bethany made Geneva pay by shooting 47% in the second half. The Bison slowly distanced themselves and cruised to a 91-62 final.

Jordan Harbison was one of the lone offensive bright spots in the game for Geneva as he shot 5-9 from long range for 15 total points in the contest. Chaese Vaudrin pieced together another steady night with 11 points off of 3-7 from the field and 5-6 from the charity stripe. Jacob Jaros contributed with 11 points off the bench for Geneva. Telling the story of the game, Bethany scored 35 points off of Geneva′s 24 turnovers in the contest. Delonte′ Joyce led the Bison with 17 points.

The loss moves Geneva back to one game under .500 at 4-5 (0-2). Bethany moves to 7-0 (3-0) on the season. Geneva now has an extended break for the Christmas holiday as they don′t return to the hardwood until December 30th where they will participate in the Adidas DIII Holiday Slam in Miami, Florida.
