gcmbball13226.jpgBeaver Falls, PA- The Golden Tornadoes kicked off their three game series at home by hosting the St. Vincent Bearcats. Geneva quickly stepped into an unwanted situation being outplayed by the number one conference rival in a 90-48 final decision. The loss lowers Geneva′s overall record to 4-11, 0-6 in the Presidents′ Athletic Conference.

A series of layups allowed Geneva to take the lead in the first seven minutes of the game at 14-9. Ten minutes later it was clear Geneva had lost its footing while the Bearcats where just getting started. Geneva entered the locker room down at the half 41-27.

Unfortunately for Geneva, matters turned from bad to worse as the GT′s suffered a 28.6% field goal percentage and only found one basket outside of the arch in the second half of play. St. Vincent pressed on, finishing the game with a 59% field goal percentage and a 53% from down town. Bearcats Isaac Turner (27), Dillon Stith (17) and JC Howard (13) all finished the game with double digit points while freshman Chaese Vaudrin lead Geneva′s scoring with nine.

Geneva will take the next couple days to regaining its footing for the electric crowd Saturday at 7:30 p.m. during "Pack the Gym Night" to welcome all-time rival Westminster to the court.
