New Wilmington, PA– Geneva volleyball defeated its all-time rivals, the Westminster Titans – otherwise known as the school up north, in three sets (25-20, 26-24, 25-20). The Golden Tornadoes improve their record to 13-6 overall, 6-1 in the Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC).

“We continue to strive towards consistency,” said co-head coach Curt Conser. “We are really working hard in some things in practice and it is showing up more and more in games.”

Leading the GTs’ attack was the PAC volleyball player of the week, Erica Hughes (North Jackson, OH/Jackson Milton). Hughes finished the match with 16 kills in 32 swings for a .406 hitting percentage. Setting up the offense was Rachel Netherland (Aliquippa, PA/Central Valley) who set 29 assists. Defensively, Alexis Ritson (Irwin, PA/Hempfield) added 17 digs for the Golden Tornadoes. As a team, Geneva finished the match with eight blocks.

Thursday, October 2nd, the Golden Tornadoes travel to West Virginia to face Bethany College at 7 p.m.
