For her work the week of October 6 - 11th, 2014, Hughes was selected as the Presidents′ Athletic Conference (PAC) volleyball player of the week. This is not Hughes′ first time being given this esteemed honor either. She has now been selected as the PAC volleyball player of the week twice during her first year as a Golden Tornado.
This past week the Golden Tornadoes hosted conference foes Westminster and Thomas More. Hughes led the Golden Tornadoes offense to defeat both opponents in three sets. Wednesday, she had 19 kills over the Westminster Titans and continued on Saturday finding 16 kills against the, then-undefeated conference opponent, the Thomas More Saints. Hughes finished the week with 35 kills, averaging 5.83 kills per set.
