Washington, PA- The Geneva College men′s soccer team bounced back quickly from allowing its first goal in Presidents′ Athletic Conference play, answering in 1:14 and defeating Washington & Jefferson 2-1 on the road.
"That was really the moment this team showed its character," said Geneva coach Gary Dunda. "We gave up a goal and then came back and got it right back."
"That′s the character of these kids, they′re good kids from good families and bounced right back."
The winning goal was scored by junior Alexander Rosenbaum (Chambersburg, PA/Chambersburg) on an assist from junior Daniel Cox (Cary, NC/Cary). Cox had opened the scoring with a first half goal.
The win improved Geneva′s record to 7-3-3 and 2-0-1 in the Presidents′ Athletic Conference.
"It′s always great to get a conference win on the road," Dunda said. "We played well and this was definitely a good win."
Geneva returns home to play Grove City on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
