Beaver Falls, PA- Geneva volleyball welcomed Juniata to Metheny Fieldhouse for the first time in Geneva′s history Wednesday night. Unfortunately, Geneva finished the night 0-1 in the series after a three set match win by Juniata (22-25, 17-25, 23-25). The loss lowers Geneva′s overall record to 15-8.
Geneva′s ECAC player of the week, Erica Hughes (North Jackson, OH/Jackson Milton) was able to finish the three sets with eight kills. Rachel Netherland (Aliquippa, PA/Central Valley) set for 26 assists. On defense, Alexis Ritson (Irwin, PA/Hempfield) led with 16 digs supported by Netheralnd with 14 and Gabrielle Dickson (Brookfield, OH/Kennedy Catholic) with 11.
In a quick 24 hour turn around, the Golden Tornadoes return to the court tomorrow for senior night hosting the Grove City Wolverines at 7 p.m. In addition to senior night, Geneva is hosting a pink out for breast cancer awareness month.
