Instead of returning home from Thiel, Geneva heads south to Thomas More for its last regular season game at 6 p.m. against the Saints tomorrow Friday October 31.

Tonight’s victory was led by Golden Tornadoes Erica Hughes (North Jackson, OH/Jackson Milton) with ten kills, Olivia Test (Negley, OH/Heartland Christian) and Marissa Naples (Cortland, OH/Lakeview) with seven kills each. Rachel Netherland (Aliquippa, PA/Central Valley) finished the three sets with 29 assists.

“Our block came alive in the third game,” said co-head coach Curt Conser.

Test earned six blocks supported by Erin Smith (Sewickley, PA/Ambridge) with four.

“All credit goes to Thiel tonight under the direction of their new head coach. They did not give up on a ball. Thiel played very hard and made great digs to keep the ball alive.”

Alexis Ritson (Irwin, PA/Hempfield) served two aces in the third set at a good time to pull away.”

Defensively, Abby Wenger (Lititz, PA/Warwick) dug 14 digs. Gabrielle Dickson (Brookfield, OH/Kennedy Catholic) contributed 11 digs.

“Now we are going to try to have a fun trip down to Kentucky. We have some team bonding events place and then we are going to try to carry it over on the court.”
