St. Vincent has been drawing attention in national polls and showed why Saturday afternoon at Metheny Fieldhouse. The Bearcats never trailed and jumped to a 51-30 halftime lead en route to the 87-63 win.

“They’re really good, they do some really good things,” said Geneva coach Lori Wynn. “But we did some good things, too. We did different things well at different times, but we didn’t do it consistently. We need to work on consistency.

“We did get better but we’re not there yet.”

Junior Heidi Mann (Colorado Springs, CO/Evangelical Christian Academy) surpassed a milestone in the loss, scoring the 900th point of her career in the first half. She tied for the team lead in scoring with 14 and now has 910. Sophomore Miranda Heaney (New Castle, PA/Union) also scored 14 and sophomore Nicole Hyland (Trafford, PA/Penn-Trafford) scored 10.

Geneva, now 4-15 and 2-10 in Presidents’ Athletic Conference play, will visit Washington & Jefferson Wednesday at 6:00.
