Slow start too much for Geneva men to overcome, fall to Waynesburg 70-62

Waynesburg, PA – Geneva had a brief 3-2 lead in the opening minute of the game but, by the time the game was 10 minutes old, the Golden Tornadoes trailed 21-7. Although they cut that lead eventually, it was ultimately insurmountable as Geneva’s three-game winning streak was stopped. Geneva is now 10-14, 7-8 in Presidents’ Athletic Conference play.

Geneva continued to benefit from the hot hand of junior Ethan Adamczyk (Uniontown, OH/Lake), who scored 25 points and now has 74 in his last three games. Freshman Anthony Carthen (Washington, D.C./McKinley Tech) chipped in with a career high 13 points.

Geneva will conclude its regular season Saturday on senior night, hosting archrival Westminster at 7 p.m., 7:30 p.m. tip-off.
