Beaver Falls, PA – In 2011, the Golden Tornadoes made the transition from NAIA to NCAA Division III. Back in 2011 social media wasn’t what it is today. As Geneva Athletics continues to grow in fan base so does its exposure on the web.

Yesterday’s first official Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) Indoor Track & Field Championship is a perfect example of the support and pride Geneva’s campus, friends, family, alumni and community have in the student-athletes wearing old gold and white. Geneva’s athletic Facebook page, Geneva Athletics, topped 200 views of freshman Nicole Bartolleta’s (Monaca, PA / Central Valley) performance in the 60 meter dash.

In addition to the Geneva Athletics Facebook page, the student-athletes are featured on twitter @GenevaAthletics and on Instagram, GenevaCollegeAthletics.

“Geneva’s history of excellence did not stay in the history books. Excellence has been passed down year after year and the result is outstanding student-athletes performing on the athletic fields while obtaining a degree that will allow them serve in the Lord and neighbor in whatever work the Lord directs them to,” said Geneva’s Sports Information Director Christy Lear.

“It’s very exciting to use social media to give our student-athletes exposure.”

“Parents of these athletes have been supporting them every day since Kindergarten and it is a special privilege to witness a whole community supporting athletes after the leave home in pursuit a degree.”
