PITTSBURGH, PA - Sophomore Nicole Hyland (Trafford, PA/Penn-Trafford) scored 23 points – 17 in the first half – and junior Heidi Mann (Colorado Springs, CO/Evangelical Christian Academy) added 19 but the Golden Tornadoes connected on just three of 18 three-point attempts and fell at Chatham 78-66.

“Nicole played a great game and we played well on offense and on defense but not all the time,” said Geneva coach Lori Wynn. “Plus, we got beat on the boards.

“Chatham plays well at home and we’ll just focus on getting ready for the next game.”

Mann continues her march towards 1000 career points as she now has 963, 23 points behind Jodie Tagliaferri in 12th place in career scoring at Geneva. She will need to score better than her team high scoring average of 14.9 points in her next two games to break the 1,000 point mark at home in the season finale.

Geneva, now 4-19 and 2-14 in Presidents’ Athletic Conference play, will next play Wednesday at Waynesburg at 5:30 p.m.
