Geneva’s Cross County Teams Named 2015 Division III All-Academic Teams

Beaver Falls, PA – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division III Scholar Teams of the Year for the 2014 cross country season was released this week including both Golden Tornadoes men and women’s cross country programs.

In order to be recognized on as a USTFCCCA Division III Scholar Team the programs must have compiled a cumulative GPA or 3.10 or greater and competed in at least five different meets with at least five runners representing their school at each.

“Excellence in academics is an inherent part of the culture of our cross country teams here at Geneva,” said Head Coach Brian Yowler. “It’s wonderful to see our student-athlete’s hard work pay off both in the classroom as well as on the cross country course.”

The men’s program accumulated a team GPA of 3.56 in season while the women excelled with a team 3.71 GPA; both programs earning the highest GPA among Presidents’ Athletic Conference schools.
