Genevans On TourThe Genevans, the student choir of Geneva College, will perform "Good News!" throughout the group′s Spring Break tour this March. The repertoire for the concerts highlights passages from the Gospels, Psalms and Isaiah.

Conductor Dr. David Kenneth Smith will present classical sacred music, yet includes familiar upbeat spirituals, works by nine living composers, and pieces commissioned for the choir.

The tour began with a preview performance at the Reformed Presbyterian Home in Pittsburgh March 4. For the remainder of the tour, which closes on March 15, the choir will perform throughout West Virginia, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas.

The group′s annual campus spring concerts will be Friday and Saturday, March 27 and 28. Both will be in Old Main′s John White Chapel at 7:30 p.m.

The Genevans is heir to a tradition of choral singing dating from the early years of the college of a century and a half ago. The mission of the choir expresses Geneva′s belief that music, as one of God′s finest gifts, meets a deep, universal need in people. The choir′s repertoire is broad and varied, reflecting the belief that "all of life, always and everywhere, is life in the presence of God."
