The Geneva College Jazz Band will perform its 20th annual concert of big band music from the 1930s and ’40s, “In the Mood XX: Big Band Returns,” on Saturday, April 11 at 8 p.m. in John H. White Chapel of Old Main.

The Jazz Band is comprised of 19 students, featuring brass, saxophone and rhythm sections. The band will present a selection of popular jazz standards such as “Autumn Leaves,” “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy,” “In the Mood” and “Fly Me to the Moon.” The program will also include several vocal solos in addition to the solo features performed within the band.

Jazz band director and chair of the music department Professor Don Kephart notes, “The annual jazz concert has become one of the most popular events on campus each spring, providing a high energy concert that continues to entertain and attract all ages.”

The price of admission is $8 for adults and $3 for students. Seating is limited and the venue is not handicap accessible. To reserve tickets or for more information, contact Geneva’s Department of Music at 724-847-6660.
