The Wednesday, June 24, 2015 episode of WORLD Radio’s The World and Everything in It (TW&E) has been posted to Geneva College’s website at http://www.geneva.edu/faith/the-world.

This week’s midweek edition of the show includes such top news headlines as ISIS giving away Yazidi and Christian women as social media contest prizes, the Obama administration reversing a longstanding policy by announcing that it will not prosecute families who attempt to pay ransom to foreign kidnappers for release of loved ones, a Christian-owned wedding venue being forced to close doors after turning away a homosexual wedding, and more.

The “White House Wednesday” portion of the program discusses appearances by 2016 presidential hopefuls at the Faith and Freedom Coalition's "Road to Majority" conference that was held June 18–20, 2015 in Washington, D.C. During the conference, Governor Bobby Jindal (R-LA) officially launched his 2016 presidential bid and spoke about the growing threat on religious liberty in the United States. Governor Chris Christie (R-NJ), whose formal presidential bid announcement is expected as early as next week, addressed military funding and his pro-life credentials. And Governor John Kasich (R-OH) talked about his Christian faith and shared his personal testimony.

Program hosts also discussed the Giant Magellan Telescope (GMT) project. Eleven international partners have committed over $500 million to begin the construction phase of the observatory in northern Chile. The telescope, which will be more powerful than the Hubble Space Telescope, is expected to cost $1 billion and be fully functional in 2024.
