New Song on Tour

BF Crime Watch Day

New Song

Geneva College’s traveling musical ministry ensemble New Song is currently on tour, singing in six states with over 20 performances. The group has scheduled appearances in Maryland, Virginia, South Carolina, New Jersey and New York. Through music and drama, New Song shares the timeless words of the Gospel in a contemporary and dynamic way.

For 39 years New Song has traveled widely across the United States and Canada, and has traveled twice to mainland China. Students are chosen because of their musical and dramatic abilities and because of the way they can articulate and convey their faith.

This year’s New Song members are seniors Rose Lundy, Caleb Cress and Hannah Falk; juniors Annie McCune, Matthew Montgomery, Garret Stevens and Maggie Smith; and sophomores Adam Spears and Savannah Thompson. The group is under the direction of Lindsay (Brothers) Shaffer.

Shaffer, a 2011 graduate of Geneva College, enjoys touring with the students. “I’m excited about it, and they seem very excited, too.”
