The Wednesday, July 15, 2015 edition of WORLD Radio’s The World and Everything in It has been posted to Geneva College’s website at http://www.geneva.edu/faith/the-world. The midweek edition of the show includes top news headlines such as President Obama’s efforts to convince Congress to back the Iran nuclear deal, the Pentagon’s review of transgender service in the military, the 10 Circuit Court of Appeals’ ruling that the Little sisters of the Poor must comply with Obamacare’s contraceptive mandate and several other stories. In business news, WORLD reports that Wall Street was up for a fourth straight day yesterday, bolstered in part by news of the Greek debt deal. Also included was coverage of Southern Baptist leader Russell Moore’s campaign to work with lawmakers to begin an investigation of Planned Parenthood after a video was released showing an executive openly discussing the sale of body parts from aborted fetuses.

In latest news from the 2016 campaign trail, Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker announces his candidacy and claims to be a fighter and a winner. His announcement officially makes him a frontrunner in the polls for the GOP nomination. WORLD Radio’s chief political correspondent Kent Covington reports that Walker proposed what he calls the “Kohl’s curve” economic philosophy.

The concluding segment of the program features a conversation between WORLD Radio’s Paul Butler and Professor of Art Emeritus at Wheaton College Dr. John Walford. Walford talks about the great painter Rembrandt, who was born on this day in 1606. Walford describes how masterfully Rembrandt captured moments in time, often portraying deep biblical truth in his paintings.
