The Wednesday, June 22 episode of WORLD Radio’s The World and Everything in It has been posted to Geneva College’s website at http://www.geneva.edu/faith/the-world. The midweek edition of the show contains today’s news and a political discussion about the current state of the 2016 race to the White House, plus a conversation with catacombs art expert Greg Athnos about the theological significance of Christian art in the Roman catacombs.

In top news this Wednesday, the Senate Judiciary Committee on Immigration Enforcement heard emotional testimony from family members of victims killed by criminal immigrants, a second undercover video of a Planned Parenthood executive haggling over the price of fetal body parts, and signed orders from five state governors allowing their national guard troops to carry side arms at recruiting centers and while performing other duties.

In other news, Saudi Arabia is reportedly considering expanding its own nuclear program in the shadow of the Iran nuclear deal. Also, U.S. stocks fell significantly on Tuesday.

In the White House Wednesday portion of the program, WORLD reports on Ohio Governor John Kasich’s campaign announcement as the first televised Republican presidential debate approaches. WORLD chief political correspondent Kent Covington discusses the potential problems facing candidates if they cannot reach one of the ten spots on the debate stage, especially how difficult it will make fundraising if a candidate is left out.
