Master's in Counseling Program Hosts Fall Information Receptions

Geneva College will host information receptions for the Master of Arts in Counseling program on Wednesday, September 23; Tuesday, October 20 and Thursday, November 19.

The receptions feature opportunities to meet the counseling faculty, enrollment manager, current counseling students and counseling alumni. They will answer questions about the program, as well as general concerns about attending graduate school. The sessions also provide an opportunity to sit in on a class.

The reception held on September 23 will be held at the Regional Learning Alliance in Cranberry Township from 4:30 – 6 p.m. in room 2231. An optional class will be held from 6-6:30 p.m. Dinner will be provided.

The October 20 session will be held in Northwood Hall on the Geneva College main campus from 1-2 p.m. in room 118. The optional class will be held from 2-2:30 p.m.

The November 19 reception will be held at the Regional Learning Alliance from 4-5:30 p.m. in room 2217. Members of a current counseling class will join the reception and a light buffet will be available.

Geneva College offers three Christian counseling concentrations. The Marriage, Couple and Family Counseling and the Clinical Mental Health Counseling concentrations are each 60 credits, while the School Counseling concentration consists of 51 credits.

The Master of Arts in Counseling program at Geneva provides academic training to students who wish to become professional counselors.  The counseling master’s program is designed for those who wish to integrate an understanding of Christian faith with professional counseling of diverse counselees in a variety of religious and secular settings. A multidimensional holistic view of persons examines the interplay of physical, psychological, social, and spiritual aspects of life.  Professional counselors use various interventions to facilitate wellness, personal growth, and mental health among those whom they counsel.
