Geneva Continues Run of Recognition in Best College Rankings

U.S. News Rankings

U.S. News RankingsU.S. News & World Report, which released the 2016 Best Colleges rankings on Tuesday, September 9, 2015, once again recognized Geneva College in multiple highly respected categories: Best Value, Best Undergraduate Engineering Programs and Best Regional Colleges. In addition, Geneva is named for the first time on the publication’s web-exclusive ranking for Best Colleges for Veterans.

For the third year in a row, Geneva is included in the top ten Best Value Schools out of North region colleges, ranking #7. In determining which colleges offer the best value, U.S. News & World Report accounts for academic quality and the 2014-15 net cost of attendance for students who received the average level of need-based financial aid. Only schools in or near the top half of their ranking categories are included because U.S. News considers the most significant values to be among colleges that perform well academically.

For the fourth consecutive year, Geneva′s engineering program is named in the nation′s Top 100 Best Undergraduate Engineering Programs rankings, which is ranked according to a peer assessment survey. To be considered, the highest engineering degree offered by a school must be a bachelor's or master's degree, and the engineering program must be accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, http://www.abet.org.

Geneva also placed #16 in the North Regional College geographical group. Regional colleges are institutions that offer a wide selection of undergraduate degrees, as well as some master's degree programs. The schools in this category are ranked by region because their enrollment draws heavily from nearby states.

And for Best Colleges for Veterans, Geneva is ranked #11 in the North region. To be included in this category, a college or university must be certified for the GI Bill and must participate in the Yellow Ribbon Program or be a public school that charges in-state tuition to all out-of-state veterans.

U.S. News & World Report, which has been ranking colleges and universities for 30 years, uses a methodology that measures how well a school educates its students. Indicators of excellence include freshman retention and graduation rates and the strength of a school′s faculty.

Since its inaugural edition in 1983, U.S. News & World Report′s Best Colleges has been helping students and their parents make informed higher education decisions by providing news and advice about in-demand degree programs, finding more financial aid, how to be successful in college and other relevant topics.

Geneva College invites students to step forward with an academically excellent, Christ-centered and affordable education. Offering nearly 40 undergraduate majors, Adult Degree Programs with fully online and campus-based options, and high-demand advanced graduate degrees, Geneva's programs are recognized for their high quality. U.S. News & World Report ranks Geneva as a Top 10 Best Value with one of the Top 100 engineering programs in the nation. Adhering to the inerrancy of Scripture, a Geneva education is grounded in God’s word as well as in a core curriculum designed to prepare students vocationally to think, write and communicate well in today’s world.
