Geneva rolls over Westminster in three; winning streak rises to 15

Beaver Falls, PA – Geneva volleyball hit 15 straight wins after defeating Westminster at home in three; 25-15, 25-18, 25-20. Now 15-1, and 5-0 in the Presidents’ Athletic Conference, Geneva holds the longest winning streak in school history.

Sophomore Erica Hughes (North Jackson, OH/Jackson Milton) led the offense with 12 kills.

Junior Olivia Test (Negley, OH/Heartland Christian) also hit double digit kills with ten.

“We did a great job of setting the middle,” said co-head coach Curt Conser. “Especially, Olivia and Marissa, they attacked intelligently and aggressively.

Sophomore Marissa Naples (Cortland, OH/Lakeview) earned nine kills in 13 swings for a .692 hitting percentage.

“Olivia and Marissa combined for 19 kills and a .586 hitting percentage,” said Conser. “It may have been Marissa’s best attacking match so far this season.”

Saturday, October 3, the Golden Tornadoes travel to Saint Vincent to face Waynesburg at 1 p.m. then Saint Vincent at 3 p.m.
