Beaver Falls, PA- After a late road game at Thiel Friday night, Saturday the Golden Tornadoes took on the Thomas More Saints at home (Brady’s Run). Rain forced the two teams to face each other inside. The Golden Tornadoes defeated the Saints 6-3, raising their record 3-0, 2-0 in the Presidents’ Athletic Conference.

“Today’s match was just a phenomenal display of tennis from both teams,” said head coach Mandee Craft. “We always have good battles with Thomas More and we are thrilled with the results today.”

“Beth (Elizabeth Stewart) and Samm (Samantha Jensen) both had tremendous wins, at first doubles and then in their singles as well.”

Geneva’s doubles teams earned the slight edge over the Saints, winning two of three sets.

Stewart (Rochester, PA/Rochester) and Jensen (Muskegon, MI/Mona Shores) won first doubles 8-6. Stewart then went on to win first singles 6-4, 6-2. Jensen dropped her first set to Thomas More but then came back to win the fourth singles match 4-6, 6-3, 10-5.
