Megan Hinds Makes History as Geneva’s First PAC Women’s Tennis Champion

hindsErie, PA – Geneva’s women’s tennis’ Megan Hinds (Montrose, PA/Montrose) is the 2015 fifth singles PAC Women’s Tennis Champion, Geneva first-ever women’s tennis conference champion.

Friday, October 23 Hinds defeated won the quarter finals over Thiel’s Mercedez Quarles (6-0, 6-2). She then played in the semi-finals Friday evening against Thomas More’s Maryann Meadows advancing to the finals (3-6, 6-4, 6-2).

Saturday, she defeated Westminster opponent, Stephanie Homitz, in a long series final 6-3, 3-6, 6-4.

“This is so exciting for our program to finally have a PAC Champion,” said head coach Mandee Craft.

I couldn’t pick a better player to do it. Megan played so hard and so well, carrying herself with the grace she always does. I’m so proud of her.”

The PAC Champion, Megan Hinds said, “During the match I didn’t think about my past points or my future points.

“The one thing that pushed me through was a quote that a teammate in the past said, ‘God knows the outcome of my match, so there is no pressure.’ That thought was in the forefront of my mind and is what made my success achievable.”
