Huntingdon, PA – Geneva volleyball faced nationally ranked Carnegie Mellon University (#24) and Juniata (#1) at the Juniata Tournament Saturday. Geneva dropped a 3-0 matches to CMU (25-16, 30-28, 25-14) and Juniata (25-18, 25-20, 25-18). The two loss day lowers Geneva’s overall record to 23-6, 12-2 in the Presidents’ Athletic Conference.

“We kept both teams off balance enough to give ourselves opportunities but we did not convert those opportunities,” said co-head coach Curt Conser.

Gabrielle Dickson (Brookfield, OH/Kennedy Catholic) played all nine sets in the weekend tournament with four service aces and 52 digs. For her work, she was selected as a member of the all-tournament team.

Erica Hughes (North Jackson, OH/Jackson Milton) led Geneva’s offense against CMU and Juniata. Against CMU, Hughes earned 12 kills while earning seven against Juniata.

The Golden Tornadoes turn their attention to next week as they take on four conference foes to end the regular season: Thiel, Waynesburg, Bethany and Saint Vincent.
