New Wilmington, PA – Geneva raised its winning streak to 18 straight Wednesday night at Westminster. The Golden Tornadoes defeated the Titans in three: 25-18, 25-22 and 27-25.

Now 18-1, 8-0 in the Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC), the Golden Tornadoes are set to host defending PAC Champions Thomas More Saturday, October 10 at 11 a.m. followed by a second game against Thiel at 3 p.m. in Metheny Fieldhouse.

Win at Westminster - Olivia Test gets the ball past the block

The Golden Tornadoes will be looking to match the college record for a winning streak in any sport Saturday. The 1992-93 men’s basketball team won 19 in a row.

Olivia Test (Negley, OH/Heartland Christian) led Geneva’s offense with nine kills and two blocks.

Rachel Netherland (Aliquippa, PA/Central Valley), Grace Hayes (Westminster, MD/Westminster), Rachel Tuck (Burke, VA/Lake Braddock Secondary School) and Erica Hughes (North Jackson, OH/Jackson Milton) all contributed a handful of kills in the offensive effort.

Marissa Naples (Cortland, OH/Lakeview) set for 20 assists while Netherland contributed 18.

Gabrielle Dickson (Brookfield, OH/Kennedy Catholic) and McKala King (Uniontown, OH/Lake) both led the defense with 14 digs each.

“It was a sloppy day but Bri Dickson stepped up,” said co-head coach Curt Conser. “She earned four serve aces on the service line. She also made plays that do not show up in the stats such as hustle plays and coverage plays.”

“It was good to be challenged going into the Thomas More match.”
