Career Development Activities Planned for Spring

Geneva College’s Career Development Center has announced its schedule of events for the spring semester. The office will continue to hold its Resume Drop-in days, as well as provide opportunities for students to interact with job recruiters both on campus and at larger job fairs.

Resume Drop-in days will be held on Friday mornings between 10-11 a.m. Students can stop in the office to have their resumes and cover letters reviewed to ensure that they are ready for the application process.

Ray Tyson, Associate Vice President/ Financial Advisor for Hefren-Tillotson Inc. will be on campus to help with Resume Drop-in and to speak over lunch about college debt and saving on Friday, February 26 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Recruiters interested in hiring Geneva students will be on campus at different times throughout the semester. Emails will be sent in advance to remind students of exact dates and details. Recruiters will be found in the Brig between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

There will be two career fairs held on campus this semester. The Summer Camp and Ministry Fair will be held on Wednesday, February 3 from 1 to 4 p.m. in Skye Lounge, which provides an opportunity for summer employment or career opportunities at various ministry outlets. A general career fair will be held on Wednesday, March 2 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Skye lounge for students of all majors.

Three job fairs will be held in Monroeville this semester. The SciMathTech Inteview Day will be held on Friday, February 12. The day will allow for students in STEM fields to practice their interviewing skills by appointment. Students have until Monday, January 25 to register.

The WestPACS Job and Internship Fair will be held on Wednesday, March 9 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Monroeville. This large fair offers students of all majors an opportunity to interact with recruiters from various businesses. Also in Monroeville, the PERC Education Job Fair will be held on Wednesday, March 30 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for education majors. Sign up in the Career development office for a reduced price by February 22.
