Geneva Overcome by Thiel’s Second Half Surge

team

Beaver Falls, PA – Tied 42-42 with 12:02 left in the game, the visiting Thiel Tomcats’ offense exploded handing Geneva a 77-63 loss. The loss drops the Golden Tornadoes’ overall record to 2-15, 2-8 in the President’s Athletic Conference (PAC).

It was a quiet first five minutes of action with Thiel holding an early lead over Geneva, 4-0. Thiel would never lose the lead throughout the course of the game.

Despite Thiel’s advantage, Geneva fought to remain close, never trailing by more than seven points in the first half.

Geneva’s comeback was thwarted in the second by Thiel’s 63 percent field goal percentage while the Golden Tornadoes managed just 36 percent from the field.

Chaese Vaudrin (Uniontown, OH/Lake) led Geneva’s offensive efforts with 25 points. Vaudrin was also effective off the glass with team-high nine rebounds.

Ethan Adamczyk (Uniontown, OH/Lake) also scored in double digit points with 18 while Jimmy Leichliter (Connellsville, PA/ Connellsville) reached 14.
