Chatham Edges Geneva 74-64 in PAC Postseason Tournament

Geneva

Beaver Falls, PA – Down 19 points with 13:14 left in the second half, Geneva rallied with a 23-5 scoring run against the visiting Chatham Cougars Monday night but it wasn’t enough as the Cougars outlasted the comeback, edging the Golden Tornadoes 74-64, in the first round of the Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) playoffs.

A fastbreak layup by senior guard Ethan Adamczyk (Uniontown, OH/Lake) brought Geneva to within one, 57-56 with 4:50 left, but that was as close as Geneva could get as Chatham responded with a seven point run.

Junior guard Chaese Vaudrin (Uniontown, OH/Lake) led Geneva’s scoring and earned a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Sophomore guard Jimmy Leichliter (Connellsville, PA/ Connellsville) also recorded a double-double with ten points and ten rebounds. Adamczyk scored 18 points while helping Geneva’s rebounding game with seven.

The Golden Tornadoes finished the 2015-16 season with an overall record of 5-21, 5-13 in the PAC.

“This season was a season that had games of runs. You have to give credit to Chatham, they beat us. They deserve to win,” said head coach Jeff Santarsiero.

“All teams in America go through these kinds of years.”
