Jimmy Leichliter’s Career Day Leads Geneva over Washington & Jefferson, 71-41

Beaver Falls, PA – Jimmy Leichliter (Connellsville, PA/ Connellsville) hit four three-pointers in a row at one point and had 11 points and two rebounds in the first five minutes of the game as Geneva jumped ahead early to earn the 71-41 win.

Leichliter finished with a career-high 30 points, and had a career game-high eight three-pointers in the win that raised Geneva’s overall record to 3-17, 3-10 in the Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC).

“Jimmy got going early,” said head coach Jeff Santarsiero. “To his credit, he has been in a little slump this year and he came out tonight.”

Leichliter scored the first 17 points got the Golden Tornadoes at 11:14 of the first half and Geneva led the Presidents 17-5.

Geneva went into the locker room at the half with a comfortable 41-22 lead.

Geneva sealed the win in the second half shooting 42.3% from the field.

Ethan Adamczyk (Uniontown, OH/ Lake/Lake Erie) also scored 13 points and had seven rebounds. David Oliver (Sewickley, PA/Quaker Valley) helped with eight points, five rebounds.

“This was a great team win. We played great defense and shot well from the foul line. We will rest on that tonight and get ready for Grove City on Saturday starting tomorrow.”

Saturday, February 6 Geneva is on the road at Grove City to face the Wolverines at 3 p.m.
