Second Half Comeback Not Enough against Waynesburg Women

Ford

Beaver Falls, PA – Geneva outscored Waynesburg 45-37 in the second half but it wasn’t enough to overcome the 39-22 deficit the Golden Tornadoes fell into by the half. The 76-67 loss drops Geneva a 9-15 overall record, 6-11 in the Presidents’ Athletic Conference.

“We didn’t really execute well in the first half,” said head coach Lori Wynn. “We got our act together in the second but it was a little too late.”

Callie Ford (New Middletown, OH/Springfield Local) led Geneva’s scoring with 18 points and chipped in six rebounds.  Heidi Mann (Colorado Springs, CO/Evangelical Christian Academy) scored 17 while leading the team in rebounds with eight. Jodie Carlson (Warsaw, IN/Warsaw) also reached double digit points in scoring with ten.

Noelle Henry (Aliquippa, PA/Hopewell) helped Geneva off the glass with six rebounds.

Geneva will finish its regular season at all-time rival Westminster on Saturday, February 20 at 1:30 p.m. Geneva will then advance to the PAC Championship Tournament with the location and opponent to be determined.
