Geneva Baseball Swept by Kenyon College

Fort Pierce, FL – Geneva baseball was swept in their doubleheader against Kenyon College on Monday. The Golden Tornadoes lost the first game 5-4 and dropped the second game by a 3-2 decision. Geneva is now 3-5 on the season.

Both games were tight and the first wasn’t decided until the eighth inning as Kenyon was able to out last the Golden Tornadoes.

Geneva jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the first as a double by Joey Luciana (Oakmont, PA/St. Joseph), scored Mark Overmier (Crofton, MD/Mount St. Joseph).

Caleb Metzler (Lititz, PA/Warwick) took the loss in the opener as he allowed a run in just one-third of an inning. In the second game, Jeff Parker (Green Brook, NJ/Timothy Christian) took the loss in the second game, although he didn’t allow an earned run. In five innings, he struck out seven and walked three.

A two-run seventh inning did bring Geneva within one but that was as close as it would get. A two-run double by Andy Santana (San Pedro de Marcoris, DR/Desert Christian) triggered Geneva’s comeback, but he was stranded there.

Geneva returns to action Tuesday March 15 in their final game in the Florida trip, when they will face off against Norwich University.
