Pags

Fort Pierce, FL – The Geneva baseball team had an early lead Thursday – 2-1 in the third – but the lead didn’t hold as the Golden Tornadoes dropped a 4-2 decision. The loss lowers Geneva’s overall record to 2-2.

Tyler Pagaduan’s (Voorhess, NJ/Eastern Regional) RBI single to center field gave Geneva the 2-1 lead in the third as Mark Overmier (Crofton, MD/Mount St. Joseph) and Forrest Beighley (Beaver Falls, PA/Blackhawk) crossed the plate. Geneva held to lead until the end of the top of the fifth when a walk, passed ball and single equalized the game at 2-2.

Hilbert held Geneva to six hits while racking up 11, scoring in the eighth and ninth for the win.

Caleb Metzler (Lititz, PA/Warwick) took the loss despite striking out eight, allowing only two runs in 6.1 innings.
