Geneva Baseball Drops 8-1 Decision to Bethany

Beaver Falls, PA – Geneva Baseball hosted the Bethany Bison in a single nine inning game and dropped an 8-1 decision, lowering its overall record to 4-8, 0-3 in the Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC).

Geneva’s lone run came in the second inning after Andy Santana (San Pedro de Marcoris, DR/Desert Christian) singled, advanced to second on an error and scored on a second error. 

Zach Ackerman and his twin brother JC Ackerman (Lewis Center, OH/Worthington Christian) each had two hits in the game and Aaron Witman (Greencastle, PA/Shalom Christian Academy) went 2-4 also earning a double.

Bethany scored a pair of runs in the first, fourth, seventh and ninth innings.

Drew Nichols (New Wilmington, PA/Wilmington) ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision. He was charged with the loss after 6.3 innings of work including four strike outs.

Thursday, March 24 Geneva travels to Bethany for a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m.
