Beaver Falls, PA – The Geneva men’s tennis lost a close match, 5-4, against President’s Athletic Conference rival Westminster at home on Wednesday, March 30. They are now 1-5 overall and 1-2 in the conference coming off an exciting road win against Thomas More last week.

“Any 5-4 loss stings, but I am choosing to take positives from this one,” said head coach Mandee Craft.

Caleb Hoal (Montrose, PA / Montrose) went the distance winning his singles match 6-2, 6-1 and his doubles match with partner Ethan Stahl (Beaver Falls, PA / BCCS). Evan Shaw (Enon Valley, PA / Homeschool) proved his grit winning his lengthy singles match with a 7-6, 7-6.

“We had some great wins today, including two by Caleb and a marathon singles win by Evan. We posted four wins towards our tournament standing we will continue to compete well at every position.”

The Golden Tornadoes will head back out onto the court Thursday, March 31 as they host another conference game against the Thiel Tomcats starting at 4 p.m.
